just-ask-kim.com Currently the Wordpress community is embroiled in debates as to whether plugins and themes should have to honor the GPL license that Wordpress carries and in theory passes on to majority of the code that interfaces with it. I don't want to go into that too much because its a long bitter saga that may is emotional, heated, hard to know who's right, and likely to end up in court. What I do want to share however is why Wordpress is not actually free... who the Wordpress community is (hint: you and me)... what rolls we play in helping keep Wordpress moving forward... and give you some idea of what roll paid additions (plugins/themes) to Wordpress may or may not in that big picture. These are just some thoughts that I shared live on my Q&A call the other day.
